We collect minimal information necessary to provide our service:

• Preferences you enter: Gender preference, name origin, style/vibe, and desired meanings you select during onboarding. This data is stored locally on your device only.
• Saved names: Names you favorite are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage.
• Language preference: Your chosen language is stored locally on your device.
• Usage data: We track the number of daily and total name generations locally on your device to enforce free-tier limits.
• Purchase information: If you purchase Pro, Apple processes the transaction. We receive only a confirmation of the purchase — no payment details.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
• We do not collect location data
• We do not collect device identifiers or advertising IDs
• We do not create user profiles or accounts
• We do not use tracking or analytics SDKs

How We Use Your Information

Your preferences (gender, origin, vibe, meanings) are sent to OpenAI's API solely to generate baby name suggestions. This data is transmitted securely over HTTPS and is not stored or used for any other purpose by OpenAI beyond the immediate API response. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to this processing.

Third-Party Services

OpenAI API: We use OpenAI's API to generate name suggestions based on your preferences. The preferences you select are sent to OpenAI to generate results. Please review OpenAI's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle API data.

Apple App Store / StoreKit: In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We receive confirmation of purchases but no financial data. Please review Apple's Privacy Policy for details.

Data Storage & Security

All personal data (saved names, preferences, language settings) is stored locally on your device using iOS's secure UserDefaults and data storage mechanisms. We do not operate external servers that store your personal data.

Data transmitted to OpenAI's API is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.

Data Retention

Since data is stored locally on your device, it persists until you delete the app or use the "Reset All Data" feature in Settings. You have complete control over your data.

Children's Privacy

BabyName AI is designed for use by adults (expectant parents). We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app does not contain content directed at children.

Your Rights

• Access & Delete: Use "Reset All Data" in Settings to delete all locally stored data at any time.
• No account: Since we don't require accounts, there's no profile to manage or delete.
• Opt out: Simply uninstalling the app removes all local data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
